Miscellaneous (2011-2014)
Research and experimentation at the Royal College of Art
In Gut Feeling I was interested to translate my anxieties about my position in the world as an artist and as a woman by wearing the inside of the body on the outside. It is all about tensions and contradictions. They are flesh-like objects that look repulsive and attractive at the same time. It is an instinctive approach thus the title "gut feeling".
These objects challenge our perception of what they represent.

Objects who dream to be jewellery
What are these ambiguous objects? Conceptually, visually and aesthetically, they are rings. They look like rings; they have the size and the preciousness of rings. Everything about them evokes impressions of jewellery, but they cannot be worn. They bear the concept of rings but do not have the function. Then what are they? Do we even need to categorize them? Maybe the function of these absurd little things is to frustrate us in a spirit of vengeance because they themselves are not what they would like to be…

No Function / No sense?
(Exhibition at DepotBasel in 2012.)
At the same time as “Musterzimmer” Depot Basel showed the exhibition “No Function – No Sense”. Expatriate swiss designers and artists were asked to create objects without function and therefore to reflect on the (supposed?) boundaries between art and design as well as the relation between beauty and purpose.

Theodora
Would you keep this ephemeral necklace intact or would you prefer to wear it and reveal its hidden treasure? And what if there is nothing to reveal? Its secrets could rather be the emotional value one add to it?
The first piece after graduation. Graduate Show 2012 at Galerie Marzee. RCA exhibition curated by Laurie Schram and Évelie Mouila.

T’s made
Exhibition curated by Sarah Money at the Rye Art Gallery. Artists were asked to give their interpretation of the T-Shirt shown alongside a collection of Tea Pots.
